For whatever reason, we have seen instances where the automatic process to activate Vista craps out. The error code is 0x8007232b. The details for the code relate to DNS problems.

Commonly, retrying the activation (via the System control panel) results in success. However, in a couple of cases, we had to go through more of a manual process to activate the OS. Try the following if you run into problems:

- Bring up an Elevated Command Prompt: Press Win key; Type cmd; Press CTRL+Shift+Enter; Accept UAC permissions; Box will be titled Administrator: C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe
- Type slmgr.vbs -ipk your-MAK-activation-key and press Enter
- After a few seconds, should get response that product key was successfully changed
- Type slmgr.vbs -ato and press Enter
- After a few seconds, should get response that product has been successfully activated

Good Luck!!
